What an Amazing First Two Weeks!

Wow what an amazing first two weeks I've had as the 2012 Rose of Tralee! I can't believe how fast time has gone by!

After Tuesday night’s TV show on the 21st August I went to the Midnight Madness parade and the turnout there was so overwhelming, the people of Tralee were so supportive and kind it was fantastic! The fireworks in Denny Street really captured everything about the Rose experience, amazing! Since I have become the Rose of Tralee people have been incredible and the kind wishes and congratulations keep flying in, which is so heartwarming.

My first day was filled with radio and newspaper interviews and a few visits to places like the fab Streat Cafe in Tralee and Lee Strand. It was an honour to be invited to Tralee golf club on Wednesday night for my first official event as the Rose of Tralee. On Thursday I headed home to Cork to be greeted by a fun filled party with my family in Kinsale, then back to Tralee on Saturday for the Kerry Cancer Support Group fundraiser BBQ at Ballygarry House Hotel, it was a great night where I even got to choose best dressed lady!

Sunday was a huge highlight for me as I went to Croke Park for the first time to see Cork play with my Dad and Grandad, that was so special for me. They didn’t win but it was a great experience!

One week on from the Rose of Tralee announcement I spent a lovely time with the kind people from the Hope Foundation in Cork. I look forward to working for such a worthy cause throughout my year as the Rose of Tralee.

Arriving back in Luxembourg was fantastic, everyone was so excited and they arranged a great evening in the Black Stuff pub to celebrate!  Today it's back to work in school but I think the celebrations will still continue, continental style! I’m really looking forward to this weekend when I head back to Dublin and attend the Curragh Races on Sunday. It will be such an honour to meet Gay Byrne and judge the best dressed lady for the Newbridge Silverware Style Icon Award with him.

If the past two week is anything to go by then a lot of fun and adventure lies ahead for me this year!!
