Rose of Tralee

Hello and welcome to the Sydney Rose Centre!

This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the Sydney Rose of Tralee, and we are celebrating in style.

Each year, over 400 members of the Sydney Irish community come together for our Rose Ball to witness the selection of the next Rose who will represent us at the International Festival in Tralee.

Entries have now closed for the 2013 selection, and our prospective Roses are in the midst of a rigorous calendar of events that will ultimately determine who takes the crown.

Congratulations must go to our 2012 Sydney Rose, Sophia Fitzgerald, who has represented herself and our Centre so beautifully for the past year. Sophia leaves a big pair of shoes to fill.

2013 Sydney Rose Centre Events

Sunday, 24th March - Orientation Day

Where: St. Patrick's Hall, Bondi

Our kick off! The orientation day is designed to give Rose entrants a chance to meet the committee, ask questions and learn what is in store for the coming weeks.

Friday, 5th April - Rose Social Night

Where: Durty Nellys Pub, Paddington

Social night is a low key evening to give our Roses the chance to get to know each other in a relaxed environment.

Wednesday, 10th April - Public Speaking Night

Where: St Patrick's Parish Hall, Bondi 

A chance for our Roses to work on their public speaking skills. 

Friday, 19th April - A Rosey Trivia Night

Where: TBC

Friday, 26th April - The Gathering (Cocktail Evening)

Where: Kirribilli Club

Always one of the highlights of our selection, this is our Roses' first introduction to the wider Sydney Irish Community.

Sunday, 28th April - Sydney Rose of Tralee Sponsors Lunch

Where: Kirribilli Club

Rose interviews with Judges will be conducted throughout the day.

Saturday, 4th May - 2013 Sydney Rose Ball & Selection Night

Where: Sofitel Sydney Wentworth Hotel.

The night where it all comes together.
