Rose of Tralee

Hi, my name is Cliódhna and I’m delighted to be representing the Royal County this year. I'm 25-years-old and from a beautiful area outside Slane called Monknewtown. I graduated from Dublin City University with an honours degree in Journalism in 2010. I now work as a broadcast journalist in both 98FM and East Coast FM.

My hobbies include horse riding, running and yoga. I ran the Dublin City Marathon raising €8,500 for the Irish Kidney Association a few years back and I’ve tried to keep up running since!

I also enjoy travelling and I spent 14 months travelling and working after my degree. I was based in Australia for most of that time but I was also lucky enough to travel in Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia. Witnessing such a different way of life was incredible and has really stuck with me. They say – ‘you don’t know what you have until it’s gone’ and that’s how I felt about Ireland when I was away.
